Bono is to donate one of his guitars to Brazil's Zero Hunger charity campaign.
The instrument is to be auctioned off after U2's upcoming concerts this week in Sao Paulo's Morumbi football stadium.
The campaign's aim is to ensure that all Brazilians have three proper meals a day by the end of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva's term in office, and it is hoped the guitar will raise much needed funds. Last year, rocker Lenny Kravitz donated a guitar to the charity, which raised a phenomenal $132,000 at auction. Bono, who is renowned for his charity work, recently met with President Silva at his Granja do Torto residence to discuss how the government can solve the country's growing hunger problem and tackle poverty.Copyright 2006 BANG Media International
