David Beckham's pricey flight

David Beckham has splashed out £12,500 - on a lift to his grandfather's birthday party.
The soccer ace is so determined to be on time for Joseph West's 80th birthday bash, he has hired a private jet to whisk him to the UK after he plays for Real Madrid in Spain next week.
A source is quoted in Britain's The People newspaper as saying: 'When it comes to Joseph, money isn't an issue. 'He and David have always been very close. David wouldn't miss being there for the world.' The star - who is married to former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham - is known for his expensive tastes. Last month, it was claimed he spends a staggering £1,000 a month - on underwear. David is said to splash out hundreds of pounds on designer underwear, including lavish designs by Calvin Klein, every fortnight because he never wears the same pair twice.Copyright 2006 BANG Media International
