Jodie Kidd feels like a granny
Jan 27, 2006, 13:25 GMT
Jodie Kidd has quit the catwalk because she 'feels like a granny'.
The 27-year-old, who was one of the most sought after models of the 90's, says she is too old to compete with the new wave of young models breaking through.
She said: 'I feel like a granny beside all those young girls. 'It's time to leave the catwalk behind. She added: 'I'm no longer the skinny beanpole of my teens. I'm a size 12 or 14 now.' In 1995, an eight stone Jodie was sent home from a Milan fashion show and ordered to put on weight. Kidd has also attacked models who take drugs - claiming they must have a death wish. She told Britain's Closer magazine: 'You must have a death wish to do drugs. They ruin your mind, body and looks. 'In my business, the temptation is always there. Some girls think it's glamorous - I think it's crazy. I can't understand anyone wanting to abuse themselves like that.'Copyright 2006 BANG Media International
