Charlotte Church's bid to lose weight

Charlotte Church is taking rigorous dance lessons in a bid to lose weight.
The curvy teen singer hopes the intensive training will help her shed the extra pounds and is also hopeful the gruelling new regime will land her a part on popular British reality TV show 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
But the Welsh beauty admits she probably couldn't talk boyfriend, Welsh rugby ace Gavin Henson, into signing up for the show. The sexy star is quoted in Britain's Daily Star newspaper as saying: 'That show's cool. I don't think I'd get Gav on it but I'd definitely have a laugh. 'I love dancing and I'd rather dance to shape up than hit the gym.' The 19-year-old has previously confessed she has a tendency to plump up - and admits she could cut down on nights out partying to stay slim. She said: 'I can lose weight if I cut out the drinking - but there's no way I will ever become a skinny Minnie.'Copyright 2006 BANG Media International
