Crowe's unborn baby offered honorary citizenship in French village
Jan 20, 2006, 14:44 GMT
Russell Crowe's unborn baby has been offered honorary citizenship in a small French village.
The Oscar-winner and his wife Danielle Spencer - who are expecting their second baby in July - have been told they and the infant are welcome in picturesque Bonnieux - where the actor recently shot parts of new movie 'A Good Year' - anytime.
Major of the town Roger Fenelon was thrilled to hear reports that the baby was conceived in France. He said: 'I think that ... the very pleasant and warm atmosphere in the south of France might have helped give them the necessary inspiration.' He added to America's USA Today newspaper: 'It would give us great pleasure if one day, during a trip to France, they stop by Bonnieux so we can make their baby an honorary citizen.' Crowe confirmed reports he and Danielle are expecting their second baby earlier this week. Rumours the pair - who already have a toddler son, Charles - were having another child had been circulating for weeks. The actor told reporters at the Golden Globes awards, in Los Angeles, on Monday (16.01.06) the rumours were true, saying: 'Yes, Dani is pregnant again. She's due in July, so it's a French conception.'Copyright 2006 BANG Media International
