British pop star Pete Doherty charged with possession of drugs
Jan 10, 2006, 16:23 GMT
London - British pop singer Pete Doherty was charged Tuesday with possession of heroin and cocaine, British police said.
The 26-year-old frontman of the group Babyshambles was due to appear in court in Ealing, west London, on Wednesday.
Doherty, who has had an on-off relationship with top model Kate Moss, was arrested on November 30, 2005, but released later on bail.
Moss is wanted for questioning by British police over drug allegations after a British tabloid newspaper published photographs of her snorting cocaine in a London studio where Doherty was recording.
Moss, who has 'apologized' for her actions, has been in the United States since the allegations surfaced last September.
She has undergone treatment in a drugs rehabilitation clinic and is expected to comply with an appeal by Scotland Yard that she should give 'her side of the story.'
