Tom Hanks' A-list worries
Dec 16, 2005, 15:07 GMT
Tom Hanks thinks his days as an A-list Hollywood star could be numbered.
The actor, who has starred in over 40 films in his 20 year career, fears movie bosses may lose interest him as he grows old.
He revealed: 'I look around and I know that I am going to pay for it, big time. The knives will be out one day. 'There are quite a few people no longer getting hired who were big stars as recently as 10 years ago. 'So I've already overstayed my welcome.' But Tom, who won Oscars for 'Philadelphia' and 'Saving Private Ryan', remains philosophical about his future. He added: 'Someone is going to turn round and say, 'See - you are not such a smarty-pants after all are you?' 'And although I know that many actors say they've had luck, I've had more than my share. 'I've had it by the bucketload.' Despite his fears, Tom is still as popular as ever - earlier this year, he was voted America's favourite movie star of 2004.Copyright 2005 BANG Media International
