Lindsay Lohan's parents settle divorce

Lindsay Lohan's parents reached a divorce settlement yesterday (12.12.05).
The agreement between Michael and Dina Lohan, who were married for 20 years, came the same day the couple's divorce trial was scheduled to start.
Terms of the settlement are confidential, but the pair's attorneys insist their clients, who have four children together, are 'happy' with the outcome.Attorney John P. DiMascio Jr., who represented Michael, said the 45-year-old, who has battled drink and drugs problems in recent years, is now looking forward to 'restoring his life and his relationship with his children.' Dina's lawyer, Robert Stephan Cohen, said: 'Dina and the children are delighted to have this chapter in their lives finally closed.' Dina, 43, filed for divorce in January, which prompted Michael to ask for a cut of Lindsay's earnings in response. The bitter split has left Lindsay - who has starred in a string of hit teen films including 'Parent Trap' and 'Mean Girls' – devastated. The 19-year-old actress and singer even penned a song 'Confessions of a Broken Heart' on which she poured out her heart about father's abandonment of her. Michael is currently serving a 21 month sentence for driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a suspended license.
