Kimberley Stewart breaks off engagement

Los Angeles - Kimberly Stewart, the celebrity daughter of rocker Rod Stewart, has called off her engagement to MTV star Talan Torriero saying she wasn't ready for lifelong commitment after only a few months of dating. 'It was just too soon to enter into a lifelong commitment,' the couple said in a joint statement to People magazine. 'It is better to have a brief engagement than a short marriage. The couple continue to share their time together and remain open to whatever the future may hold.' Stewart, 26 and Torriero, 19, announced their engagement on November 16, surprising both their families and celebrity watchers. Stewart, who was for a time touted as a replacement for Nicole Richie as Paris Hilton's partner on reality TV show 'The Simple Life', was engaged to musician Cisco Adler earlier this year. © dpa - Deutsche Presse-Agentur
