Brooke Shields on her pregnancy

Brooke Shields has revealed her pregnancy was a huge surprise - because she was about to begin fertility treatment.
Shields and her husband Chris Henchy were preparing to undergo the difficult process of IVF treatment - which they used to conceive their two-year-old daughter Rowan - but were shocked when the star fell pregnant naturally.
The actress, who is expecting the baby next spring, told America's chat show The View: 'This was a surprise of a child. My husband was the most surprised. 'I had gone through so much fertility treatment to receive my first child. I went through IVF seven times and the journey was so difficult that I was just preparing to start it again. 'It was nice that my husband didn't have to show up at the clinic a half an hour earlier with a magazine and whatever else to conceive the child!' Meanwhile, Shields is preparing to face another battle with postnatal depression after learning she's due to give birth to her second child next year. The actress, who battled the blues after giving birth to her daughter Rowan in 2003, insists she's ready to take on the depression should it strike twice. The 40-year-old said: 'If you're aware of what your struggles are, then you can take the necessary action to safeguard yourself to be ready for it.
