Woody Allen: I'd make the same mistakes again
Los Angeles - In a rare interview, celebrated film-maker Woody Allen has claimed that age has not made him any wiser and that he would make the same mistakes again.
But the iconic director told Vanity Fair that his 1997 marriage to Soon-Yi Previn, the adopted daughter of his then wife Mia Farrow, was no mistake, but 'one of the great pieces of luck in my life'.
Allen gave the interview shortly before his 70th birthday and the release of his latest movie 'Match Point', starring Scarlet Johansson.
'All the crap they tell you about ... getting joy and having a kind of wisdom in your golden years - it's all tripe,' said Allen, who turns 70 on 1 December.
'I've gained no insight, no mellowing. I would make the same mistakes again.'
The film-maker called his relationship with Previn, 35, 'one of the fortuitous events, one of the great pieces of luck in my life'.
'If somebody told me when I was younger, 'You're going to wind up married to a girl 35 years younger than you and a Korean, not in show-business'... I would have said 'You're completely crazy'.'
Brad Pitt voices health documentary
Los Angeles - Hollywood hunk Brad Pitt appears to be following the humanitarian example of his 'good friend' Angelina Jolie.
The star of 'Troy', 'Ocean's Eleven' and 'Twelve Monkeys' is voicing a six-hour documentary on global health that starts screening on U.S. television Tuesday night.
Called 'RX for Survival: A Global Health Challenge', the six episode series follows health care workers and researchers struggling to contain disease among the world's poor.
Paulina Rubio named 'Star of the Year'
New York - Beautiful Mexican singer Paulina Rubio has been named 'Star of the Year' by People en Espanol.
The pop star, who features on the magazine's front cover, beat other stars like Daddy Yankee, Shakira, Juanes and Barbara Mori. Last year's winner was Myrka Dellanos.
Rubio, the daughter of actress Susana Dosamantes, began her career in the children's group Timbiriche, and made her solo debut in 1992 with 'The Golden Girl', which has become her nickname.
'The truth is that `The Golden Girl' is someone who combines talent, charisma and success, and nobody can deny that,' the magazine said. 'Everybody wants to know what Pau is doing and where she is.'
'My music, my songs are 100 percent inspired by girl power,' Rubio told the magazine.
