Sir Michael Jackson
Oct 13, 2005, 11:56 GMT
Michael Jackson apparently thinks he's an 800-year-old British knight.
The eccentric singer reportedly checked into London's Dorchester Hotel as Sir William Marshal - one of the country's most legendary knights from hundreds of years ago.
A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: 'Michael likes to use various pseudonyms when he books into hotels. William Marshal appealed to him because he's such a huge fan of British aristocracy. 'He picked the name himself partly as a tribute and partly to divert attention from himself. He thinks that Lords and Ladies stay at the Dorchester all the time.' Meanwhile, the troubled singer was reportedly turned away from a star-studded bash at a London restaurant after he turned up too late. The star - who is in the UK to record a Hurricane Katrina charity single - was told he couldn't enter the Hard Rock Cafe bash because it was too full when he showed up shortly after 11.15pm. A source told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: 'When he was told the party was a no-go, he didn't kick up a fuss, he just quietly left.' Jackson's publicist added: 'Michael was disappointed he could not attend the party as he likes Hard Rock Cafes. He's like to come down to the restaurant before he leaves the UK.'Copyright 2005 BANG Media International
