Elizabeth Taylor is said to be losing her battle with heart disease.
The Hollywood star - who had a long history of health problems before being diagnosed with congestive heart failure - has allegedly "lost the will to live".
The 73-year-old is reportedly sleeping between 12 and 14 hours a day and hasn't left her swanky Bel Air home for a month.
A source close to the star is quoted in Britain's Daily Express newspaper as saying: "It's as if she has thrown in the towel and admitted she has nothing left to live for. It's like she's given up. She's lost the will to live."
A friend of the actress - who has been married seven times - claims she's told people she doesn't want to live.
He revealed the former screen beauty dreams of being with her ex love, the late Richard Burton.
He is quoted as saying: "Elizabeth asked me what I thought heaven was going to be like. She couldn't wait to go there. She told me with tears in her eyes, 'I won't hurt anymore. I'll be with Richard [Burton]'. That's all she really cares about."
A family friend added the brunette has fallen into depression, saying: "It's like a deep, deep depression. She has lost interest in everything and all she wants to do is sleep."
