Lil' Kim reportedly begins her year-long prison sentence today (19.09.05).
The rap star, who was found guilty of perjury after lying in court about witnessing a New York shootout, is set to enter Philadelphia's Federal Detention Centre at 2pm this afternoon, according to America's New York Post newspaper.
Meanwhile, Kim has complained her jail sentence "isn't fair".
She says in an interview with Newsweek magazine: "What happened to me wasn't fair. And lots of people let me down. A lot of people I thought were my friends turned on me."
The rapper also hopes her prison stint won't affect her career.
She explained: "I had a lot of offers for movies and television before this all happened. And all I can pray for is that they will still be there when this is over. They will if it's meant to be."
Kim was sentenced to 366 days in jail earlier this year after being found guilty of lying about a Manhattan shoot-out.
The hip-hop singer had denied witnessing the gunfight four years ago when questioned about it during a trial - but video surveillance footage showed otherwise.
She confessed in court: "I testified falsely to the grand jury and during the trial. At the time I thought it was the right thing to do. Now I know it was wrong."
