Olivia Newton John reportedly hires private detective to find missing partner

Olivia Newton John has reportedly hired a private detective to find her missing lover.The Australian actress, best known for playing Sandy in 'Grease', has employed investigator Gavin DeBecker - who saved her from a stalker in 1993 - to help search for boyfriend Patrick McDermott, who disappeared from a fishing trip almost two months ago.Forty eight-year-old McDermott, who has been with Olivia for nine years, was last seen leaving for the overnight trip in San Pedro, California, on June 30.He was believed to have had lunch on the boat on July 1, but there has been no record of him since.McDermott's wallet and other belongings were left on-board.Distraught actress Olivia said earlier this week: "I'm hopeful that my treasured friend is safe and well, and I'm grateful to the officials who are working so hard to find Patrick, whom I love very much."The Coast Guard is currently investigating McDermott's disappearance and foul play has not been ruled out.Meanwhile, Olivia is being comforted at by her daughter, Chloe Lattanzi, at her Californian ranch.Copyright 2005 BANG Media International
