Lindsay Lohan pours her heart out in new song
Aug 11, 2005, 11:15 GMT
Lindsay Lohan has written a heartfelt song about her troubled father.
The teen starlet - whose dad, Michael, is currently in jail for assault and drink-driving - pours her heart out in the new track, which will either be titled 'Daughter to Father' or 'Confessions of a Broken Heart'.
Lindsay, who has three younger siblings, also sings about her struggle to cope with her parents' recent divorce.
A source revealed to America's New York Daily News newspaper: "It's the story of a girl crying to her father, asking him why he did all this to the family, and more so, to her.
"There's also something about how, as the oldest child, she carries the weight on her shoulders. She asks him, 'If you loved us, why did you do all these things?'"
Lindsay is also planning to direct the song's video.
Her publicist, Leslie Sloane Zelnik, said: "She's written every word and she's directing the video. It will chronicle the last year and a half of her life."
Lindsay recently admitted she would never try hard drugs after seeing how they affected her father.
She said: "I'd never try cocaine. I've seen my father. I've seen how it messes families up. If I hadn't experienced that, I may have gone down a different route. But I've seen how it literally tore my parents apart."
