Melissa Etheridge cleared of breast cancer

Singer Melissa Etheridge has been cleared of breast cancer.The lesbian star has revealed she has beaten the deadly disease, which she was diagnosed with last year.She said: "I stand before you a totally healthy person. I would say I'm 97 per cent back now. Chemotherapy is so hard on a person. And I would say I'm fully recovered."Melissa has thanked her long-term girlfriend, Tammy Lynn Michaels, for supporting her throughout her illness and says their relationship is stronger than ever.She told America's AP radio: "At the end of the whole thing when it was over, I came home to a bouquet that said, 'in sickness and in health' and she means it."The love and support of someone like that is worth all the money in the world."Melissa says the twosome are now planning to have a baby through artificial insemination.She added: "It's already in the works."The singer already has two children with her ex-girlfriend, Julie Cypher, using sperm from fellow musician David Crosby.Copyright 2005 BANG Media International
