Michael Jackson signs deal with OK! magazine
Aug 3, 2005, 17:49 GMT
Michael Jackson has reportedly signed a $2million interview deal with the American version of Britain's OK! magazine.
The troubled star is set to speak out for the first time since his child sex abuse trial, which saw him acquitted of all charges, in the glossy magazine.
Sources say the singer chose to tell all to OK! because the publication is renowned for its respectful and reverential tone towards its celebrity interviewees.
An insider revealed to America's New York Post newspaper: "Michael Jackson was given full approval over the interview, and the questions are very softball. He got to tell his side of the story the way he wanted to."
The Jackson issue is set to hit US newsstands next week.
Earlier this week, it was revealed Jackson has bought a palace in Bahrain. Sources claim the superstar has splashed out an undisclosed sum on the luxury property, after enjoying a recent holiday in the Middle Eastern country.
The mansion sits on 14 acres of land and is next door to a palace belonging to Jackson's royal friend Sheik Abdullah bin Hamad al Khalifa.
He is said to have fallen in love with the country because he can enjoy relative anonymity there.
