Russell Crowe has shown his softer side
Aug 2, 2005, 15:33 GMT
Tough guy Russell Crowe has shown his softer side by gushing about his baby son, Charlie.
The hot-headed actor - who is due in court accused of throwing a phone at a New York hotel worker - has revealed how he and wife Danielle Spencer have kept Charlie's baby curls.
He said: "He has had his fringe trimmed quite a bit. We've kept all his curls."
Russell has also revealed how his 18-month-old son is expanding his vocabulary.
He said: "Charlie has lots to say - he is now exploring three and four syllable words like 'helicopter'.
"He has two goldfish, which he collectively calls Nemo. And Charlie has a local rugby league team's jumper, and he loves the rabbit emblem on it."
Earlier this year, Russell had a high ranking Australian bishop baptise his son at his own private chapel.
The Hollywood actor organised the bishop to travel 100 miles to his country house in his native homeland to conduct the ceremony because he wasn't happy with the local vicar.
Russell and wife Danielle were joined by close family and friends to witness the christening of their baby son at the chapel built near their family home.
During the blessing, the Oscar-winning actor led the assembled guests in a rendition of 'Rain Drops Keep Falling On My Head' before inviting them into his home.
Later on, Russell treated the guests to a private screening of his latest film 'Cinderella Man' - in which the handsome star plays 1930s boxer Jim Braddock, who went from a poor, washed-up local fighter to become world champion in the midst of the Great Depression.

Hatch,
The story comes from an agency, who also supply Femalefirst, if that is where you saw it. I think this is where you are getting confused. It is not stolen or copied but licensed, same way we run news from United Press or any other agency.
I could not comment on whether the agency based their story on comments on a fan site or not.

Mr. Wray,
Nice...duck responsibility by passing the buck to another source. Well, you might want to let that source know that they've been busted. Plenty of us know the truth. Murph runs a classy site, always gives credit. Apparently, this is a rare quality.
DCLO,
I was not ducking anything, but explaining why an identical story is on another site and refuting the claim the copy was stolen from another site, a serious accusation.
In respect of whether the story was written up from something Russell Crowe sent to a fan site or via another source I could not comment. Being I have no idea if they did see it on the site or whether someone called them, etc.
So I am not ducking anything, I honestly do not know./>

'Russell Crowe has shown his softer side'
Ya know, it would be nice if you'd give credit to the source of the story that you repeated. You know... be honest? Maybe you 'stole' if from Femail, which 'stole' it prior to your little theft, without attribution, but added their own comments. I say this because you have repeated their 'editorial' comments, almost word for word.
Why not go straight to the original story? Here are the links. Check it out for yourself. Russell Crowe sent a message to the fan website 'murphsplace' maintained by Mary Murphy. He does this from time to time. It's called direct communication. Murph posted Russell's comments, with his permission, for fans to read.
