Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer will reunite in a Spinal Tap tribute music tour. FIRST-POSTED-FEB-24
A press conference was announced to Monsters and Critics from their publicist, Jeff Abraham on February 24.
"This is Spinal Tap" was the collaborative creation of Rob Reiner, Michael McKean (St. Hubbins), Christopher Guest (Tufnel) and Harry Shearer (Smalls), who came to the conclusion their not-so-farcical take on rock could not be told in a classic script format.
Together they made a 20-minute improvised short to raise money for the full-length feature, and then the feature was made the same way.
What they wound up with was an iconic mock-rock-documentary that has withstood the test of time, and still correctly pokes at the often times ludicrous world of rock and roll.
Now, the stars are possibly resurrecting the project.
Comedians/Actors/Directors and Musicians Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer are confirmed to hold a press conference at the House of Blues in West Hollywood on Monday, March 2nd at 10:30AM to announce their up-coming Unwigged & Unplugged acoustic 30 city tour in celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the film "This Is Spinal Tap."
This marks the first time that Guest, McKean and Shearer have ever performed unwigged and unplugged. A special acoustic performance will immediately follow the press conference. Harry Shearer
