Awesome! It's about time. I've been saying it for 30 years. God is imaginary and religion is fraudulent. Belief in a god and the practice of religion is harmful, illogical, irrational, unreasonable, and inhuman. It should not be tolerated anywhere on earth. It is a crime against reason and should be stamped out of existance, forever.

...because, after all, anyone who believes in a higher entity must be evil...never mind the Marxists....

What we have here is Atheism as a religion.

Yeah you go Maher. All Jesus followers are fruitcake, Hitler wanna-be, homo-phobic, racists just looking to (as you say) send this 'GD' country to 'H-Land'. Keep saying it like it is man!

Correction to the author: Bill Maher is not an atheist. He has in fact stated explicitly on many occasions he believes in a God. He could be arguably called a Deist or a Pantheist (as was Einstein, for example.)

These beliefs are quite far away from mainstream definitions of God, and there is only a very small step between deism and atheism. This is illustrated by the fact that in virtually every respect he is in complete agreement with outspoken atheists/freethinkers such as Hitchens, Dawkins, Dennett, Harris, Sagan, etc.

He has jokingly called himself an 'apatheist' (don't know, don't care) but he has also stated repeatedly that he does believe in 'some force' that he says could be called God.

Don't you get it ?
We're trying to refute a NEED for Religion...
This is NOT a replacement....
But since you can't conceive of rules, ethics and morals without it
you're left out in the cold with the rest of the highschool drop outs...

I'm not even going to touch your Marxists remark....
You need a little more enlightement...from a University, not a church.

In every society where education has leved up, religious belief has suffered. Why do you think our education system is being dummied down ?

I'm no part of any organized religion (was brought up as a conservative Jew; haven't seen the inside of a temple in many years), but something about this film, whose purpose seems to be to poke fun at how different people express their beliefs, comes off as disingenuous.

I believe in karma. Will the mud that Bill Maher is slinging end up back on him?
