One religious leader refers to the Catholic church as a "great whore" and the other one refers to the Jewish faith as a "gutter religion."

With friends like these, presidential candidates John McCain and Barack Obama are walking on coals as they politically dance and dodge questions about their sketchy endorsers, John Hagee, the right-wing evangelical Catholic hater, and Louis Farrakhan, the Nation of Islam hater of whitey and all things Jewish.
John McCain, according to CBS News, is now trying to keep Hagee's army of supporters without alienating the rest of Americans who are turned off by the apocalyptic, end-of-the-world gospel preacher.
Hagee had linked Hurricane Katrina to the gay rights movement: " … All of the city was punished because of the sin that happened there in that city."
He has also denounced the Roman Catholic Church as "the great whore of Babylon" and "a cult." He blames it for the Holocaust and predicts its imminent demise.
"This is the apostate church," Hagee said. " … this false religious system is going to be totally devoured by the anti-Christ."
In a statement, Catholics United said: "We hope Senator McCain will take the principled position of publicly and unequivocally distancing himself from Pastor Hagee's anti-Catholic comments."
Bill Donahue of the Catholic League offered a tougher view: "I do want a clear-cut statement from McCain saying that he knows Catholics have been offended, when this man Hagee calls my religion the great whore and a false cult system."
Today, Sen. McCain offered carefully measured words: "I don't have to agree with everyone who endorses my candidacy," he said. "They are supporting my candidacy. I am not endorsing some of their positions."
This latest controversial endorsement has made it harder for Republicans to criticize Barack Obama for his Farrakhan endorsement, which he declined accepting.

everybody think these two can walk on water? McCain shouldn't even associate himself with Hagee and he never should have with his sights set so high. As for Obama, the Farrakhan thing is not much. Just have a read on his church's mantra though. It will open your eyes.
