Yes he won, and this is just as 'scientific' as any MSM poll.

Ron Paul: Father of the Modern Republican Party !

JDAug 5th, 2007 - 20:04:29

Some polls show him be at 1%, some at over 40%. I am sure the reality is somewhere in the middle. I find him to be a breath of fresh air to politics and to the republican party.

Not only have the republicans lost their way in regards to the Iraq war, they have adopted a big government approach to everything. When Bush and the GOP contorlled congress, they passed the largest entitlement program in generations. They support campaign finance reform, no child left behind (federal funds for local schools) and the pork they put in their bills like the highway bill would make any liberal proud.

If you had told a conservative republican 50 years ago that today the party is debating how much the federal government should spend on health care, that person would say you are nuts. To me the biggest asset Dr Paul brings to the table is that we need to determine what the role of the federal government should be?

If the Federal government can virtually get involved in every aspect of our lives, what is the need of the 10th amendment, guaranteeing states rights?

on the lastest results of the drudge poll, it appears dr paul is coming back to earth as Sam Brownback is in second with 34% of the vote.

Interesting how Brownback went from such a low percentage to 35% (as of 4:05 CT). Interesting indeed. How does one go from 700 to 18,962 (6% to 35%) while everyone one else has virtually stayed the same. Interesting...

any chance we can bring Goldwater back to life? Why was the first question about abortion? Is that really the most important issue? What has happened to Republicans? Get out of my personal life! Do for me what I can't do! Like maintain bridges! And defend the homeland! Heck of a job Republicans, heck of a job!

It's also interesting that Ron Paul's numbers always jumped into the thousands within seconds of a poll being up. It's interesting that Duncan Hunter went from 111 votes, to 48, while John McCain went from 47, to 110 during the middle of the debate on ABC's poll.....and that at least one or two people have so far reported getting error messages when voting for Hunter.

well I love it when someone says they are for Paul and then says that really he probably only got 'somewhere in the middle' of 1% and 45%. might as well say 'He's just who I want to be president but he'll never win so I'm voting for Guliani'
Wake up. He is the best candidate and right now he is the only one who can beat New World Order shills Clinton and Obama.

Ron Paul is the best choice, regardless of party affiliation. Doesn't matter what 'party' he is... it's the MAN that counts. If Ron Paul were on the democratic ticket, I'd register democrat for the first time in my life just to be sure this MAN wins the primaries. It's not the party, it's the man and he has what it takes.

Don't pay attention to what individuals think, that can only VOTE ONCE because their IP's are logged.

Just pay attention to the network talking heads who are in the back pockets of the big establishment machine. They say the top tier guys were great, and the second tier didn't even register.

It's so obvious now, or at least should be that the mainstream media is full of Sh!t most of the time. The polls are saying this and that... these polls are done almost all the time on land lines. I haven't had a land line in a long time. Who has land lines? Statistically older people do, who are also found to be unfamiliar with the internet and alternate media sources. So those who are 'polled' are unfamiliar with the truth and are filled with the mainstream pro big government liberal propaganda from; FOX, CNN, NBC, etc..

These internet polls are by far more scientific than the 'polls' they constantly claim data from period.

I thought that George S. slant against Ron Paul was abominable. His opinion was not asked for on some issues and he was cut off timewise while Guliani,Romney, and occasionally others were allowed more time than proscribed before being red lighted. It seems obvious to me that the Liberal Media don't think he is a serious contestant and therefore give him short shrift. I hope that this comes back and bites them all in the backside.

Ron Paul is a rare candidate that has backbone not strings. I am sure the establishment will do whatever they can to discredit him before this race is over. They will have to because of his support.

Ron has the most support and yet all you hear is Romney and Guilani and Cain. Ron even has more money than Cain but you see the established, controlled media doing what they can to usher him to behind the scenes as fast as they can.

Before it all over, the media will do their dirty tricks to defeat him. Hopefully, their dwindling influence in America will continue to dwindle.
Hopefully, Americans will start to awake to what is really going on.

He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
He has never taken a government-paid junket.
He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.

He voted against the Patriot Act.
He voted against regulating the Internet.
He voted against the Iraq war.

There's a confounding turnabout going on here: traditionally, it's been the 'fringe' candidates that have been relegated to running campaigns based on fear and hatred, right from Ross 'giant sucking sound' Perot back to 'ol Silvertooth himself, William Jennings Bryan.

Fear and hatred was a game that Hitler may have played well, but it's never played well in the US, at least not amongst 'men of respect'. In the depths of WWII, the US re-elected an elegant man in a wheelchair, because he had hope. In the depths of the cold war, they elected a man whose approach to crises was to go off golfing.

And so the turnabout this time is, all the 'top-tier' candidates are the ones hell bent on destruction and fear. They've abandoned 'hope', and left this space wide open for someone like Ron Paul to walk in.

It's not an unprecedented open goal: Goldwater and Teddy Roosevelt (as an independent) ran over much the same ground. But it's fertile ground, and neither Goldwater nor TR were running in a race with such high stakes. And neither of them were faced with such nihilistic opponents. (using 'nihilist' in the strict sense in which nothing, neither Constitution, Geneva Convention, nor general decency, stands in the way of achieving your goals.)

It's an astonishing transition, one without parallel in US history: the elite promise nothing but endless war, and doom if their prescriptions are not followed. And only one man says that they're absolutely wrong.

Ron Paul is causing people to raise questions, think,
and actually feel good again about voting for someone
they actually like, as opposed to choosing the lesser of
the two evils. He is a voice. He is causing people to sit up and
take notice. He is a chance. He is America's chance to make
things right and perhaps patch up the mess we have made and
hopefully cause blowback to decrease and ease some tension in
the middle east. RON PAUL 2008. Be a part of it.

I don't care if you are Republican, Democrat, Green, Blue or Purple if you believe in having a candidate and President of the U.S. who believes in truly upholding their Oath of Office -- then the only one to vote for in Congressman Ron Paul from Texas. He always carries a pocket Constitution and never votes for any legislation that does not adhere to that U.S. Constitution that he took an oath and made a covenant to uphold.
He stands for Limited Government and Individual Rights. Anyone who does not believe in the above should stop waving the flag!
