Thank you for writing this piece. Ron Paul has real answers to the problems created by enlarged government. So-called leaders all over the world would do good to research Ron Paul and follow his example. Then again, they would have to return their power to the people, and they probably don\'t want to do that.

I'm excited about Ron Paul's message. Sound money is the key. Americans were suspicious of paper money in the 1700's and 1800's and rightfully so. The Fed has inflated the dollar away so now it's worth only 4 cents. Go Ron!

proud he is a Texan, and people with the big ideas scare the powerbrokers who run our lives quietly behind the scenes-don't let up Paul, and wake up America.

That is the most astute and succinct summary of the American political scene I've read. I have been thinking along those lines for several years, i.e., that the world population is being used as a captive group of consumers of industrialized cheap foodstuffs that lead to predictable illness that lead to more business for our 'healthcare' industry. Occasionally, we'reinduced to be users of war machinery that makes money for the same group of cynical businesspeople like Rupert Murdoch and George H.W. Bush, the Saudis, etc., to profit from, even when we lose the wars, which is inevitable.

Ron Paul may be our last opportunity to free ourselves from this evil system and return to the human potential for peace, prosperity, and freedom. Let's not take no for an answer when we demand our rights.

I loved this piece.

In reading it I got the impression of Mohandas Gandhi walking into a convention of noisy Pentecostal Preachers, all trying to out-do each other.

That is about where we are, politically. Hillary, Edwards, Romney, Giuliani and others, are strident, shape-shifting creations of their media people. Ron Paul just walks in and is himself: no fanfare, no bluster, no ego.

My old professor once stated, in 1976, that it was folly to elect a peanut farmer. What we need is the most vicous, duplicitous, ambitous political animal who can make the greasy-est deals and the worst kind of strong-arming, because, 'that is what politics is about' The strong, and the weak. God, was he ever right!

I just love these Robin Hood candidates. They get a softball from the press, do their little 'oh gee, me?' routine and no one really finds out about the candidate.

Perhaps we can see his congresional record, or ask him how, in the world we are living in, how he would return to 'hard' money, as if that door could ever be opened.

My favorite, though, is non-interventionism. We have security agreements with half the world, forces in these places, and are up to our armpits with security for the free world. Maybe someone can ask this cake and ice cream jockey how he intends to roll back the clock in an age of nuke proliferation, supernational terror, and old enemies who fooled us into thinking the cold war was over. Apparantly, he missed the entire 20th century.

Great piece. This is what fair Ron Paul reporting should be and isn't.

I can speak for our local meetups here in southern Indiana that Ron Paul support is growing, and the 'internet hype' is soon to be replaced with 'who the hell are all these people!? They're everywhere!'

Ron Paul and corn syrup...

While Ron Paul has not addressed corn syrup, it is a food that is highly subsidized by the government, while real sugar is attacked by high tariffs. This is why for the first time in it's company history Hershey has to move it's production out of Hershey Pennsylvania and take it overseas where they can buy real sugar without being penalized. All while a less healthy byproduct of corn is used in about 80% of the sweetened food that we eat (seriously, check the labels on your food...). It has been found to be more fattening than real sugar. No wonder Americans are so fat...and the government is subsidizing that!

Ron Paul would probably simply say...the Constitution doesn't say we should be subsidizing one industry while punishing another. Leave it to the free market.

It appears that at least aprts of this article were lifted from this one www.lewrockwell.com/latulippe/latulippe80.html

It is not nearly as cheery, but for anyone supporting Ron Paul it is a must read. It pays to know what we're up against.

Sorry, you misidentify the main opposition to a Ron Paul presidency. Big oil, big pharma, and big agra only represent a few tens of billions of dollars a piece. The really big money is in Big Leverage and Big Brother.

The banking and leveraged investment industry represents tens of trillions in smoke-and-mirrors business that depends on current inflationary credit and monetary policies. A gold standard and the end of the Fed would immediately end all games that depend on paper Funny Money and the inflation tax.

The US government (bureaucrats and contractors) represent another much more sizable constituency that would stand to eventually lose several trillion yearly in annual revenue, if RP's ideals were to become reality.

Peace.

Ron Paul has a good chance of winning.

Ron Paul is 1st on YouTube, Meetup, MySpace, Technorati, Alexa, Google, etc. The old media is just too slow to realize what is happening.

Ron Paul places 1st or 2nd in every straw poll, debate, and active participation survey.

Dr. Ron Paul has the most contributions from U.S. military personnel and veterans above all other candidates. So support the troops and vote Ron Paul!

Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton were doing about the same in the 'Scientific Polls' at this stage in their elections. 'Scientific Polls' at this stage only measure name recognition. Over the next six months Ron Paul will gain name recognition. Most people who learn about Ron Paul become major supporters.

70% of Americans want us out of Iraq and want change.

Ron Paul is only republican candidate against the war.

Ron Paul only needs about 30% vote from republicans sick of the war and abuse of powers to win in republican primaries.

Dr. Ron Paul is the man of integrity and courage that America needs at this time.

That people that support Ron Paul must as a large percentage not work , or spend all there time on the internet.
SP$ was correct--the things said in this article can't be reversed at the late stage in the game.
We can agree to gradually reduce monies sent to other countries, but to remove military commitments made in some cases 45 years ago--and change back to a hard currency model backed by gold or peanut butter ain't gonna happen.
If a horse could fly it would be a bird----If a turd could talk it would be a Ron Paul supporter

grow up people= you can't go back home---things can't reverse no matter how much we want them too--bobby socks and Elvis won't be coming back around

I've read all your comments, and I must say the thing that perplexes me the most in the USA, is if a candidate doesn't have a juggernaut of BIG money (pick your 'Big' business choice) somehow he or she is discredited and virtually written off as a loon, a dreamy-eyed long shot, a whistling Dixie kind of a dreamer.

When did we, as Americans, become so blind to the real powers that be in this country? I am shocked buy the amount of voters who list things that have absolutely no benefit to the collective whole, or their own financial interests.

Personal responsibility on our part can kick in any time here, I don't think any of our answers - save for protecting the environment - lay with big give-away government.

All people should be more outraged, and demand more from all levels of our leadership. Ron Paul deserves more mainstream coverage than what he is currently receiving.

Is he the answer? I don't know. but he deserves to be heard with respect.

Side note, perhaps the government agency in the news currently that doles out six figure subsidy checks to millionaire farmland owners like David Letterman and Ted Turner should be the biggest immediate focus of your ire.
