Happy belated birthday to Alicia Keys, and thanks to screaming guest Kimora Lee Simmons, a pall was cast on the festivities of Keys' 27th birthday party, when Simmons took the limelight away when she got into a bizarre screaming match with another woman Wednesday night.
The party at Bed started out fine, the New York Daily News reporting that Keys was chilling with beau Kerry Brothers, Clive Davis, Missy Elliott and Common. The happy gathering was interrupted after everyone had sung "Happy Birthday," a screaming voice pierced the room.
"Get out of my face, bi***!" screamed Kimora, according to a unnamed Daily News witness.
"Kimora said that the woman had thrown a drink at her," says one attendee to the Daily News. "She didn't look wet to me. But security grabbed the girl and ushered her out."
Kimora's camp tells the Daily News the woman who faced off with Kimora is described as "a disrespectful fan" who "accosted" Simmons. One unnamed source added, "Kimora doesn't even know this person, but [the woman] constantly shows up at events where Kimora is expected. Frankly, it's a little scary. Kimora is looking into getting a restraining order."
The Daily News reports that birthday girl Keys didn't "appreciate the drama."
"When Kimora was leaving, Alicia totally ignored her," claimed an unnamed Daily News source. Keys' publicist stated, "She had a wonderful time."
