Dear Mr. Clooney...See Mr. BushDec 15th, 2006 - 20:43:50

We, the people of the United States of America are moved by your insight, but only a fraction of an inch.

We are, much to your surprise, fairly well informed of the world's condition. We realize it does not meet with your approval. We also realize that you may think we are uneducated, unfeeling unwise and apathetic.

We are not.

Perhaps you have even heard of Vietnam, Korea, Somalia, Bosnia, and many of the other scenic spots we have visited for the purpose of helping people survive their slave owners.

We see the world, largely, as it is. While it my not meet with our approval, we are not, necessarily, required to remedy every unsavory situation you might be aware of.

Take darfur, for instance. America is, presently, engaged in freeing 50 million people from the scum of humanity in Iraq and Afghanistan, and we feel the rest of the world could lend a hand, if not in Iraq, then in Darfur. We are not surprised at the lack of enthusiasm by others, as they see the same mess we see, but are, perhaps, a little more cynical.

Perhaps turning to Kofi Annan and asking him to go back to his turf and work harder might produce more. Kofi seems to respond to money, which rich celebrities seem to have in quantity. He may be amenible to some kind of deal. After all, he wasn't really any use in the United Nations. Then again, they might just not pay well enough.

The other option would be to go to George Bush. He seems, to the neophyte, to be a dreamer on foreign policy and dressing up this turd might just work. Maybe Cheney could help. We also know that he is impervious to public opinion, a rare quality for a President. After all, the one thing you can say about Bush is, we already know that he's willing to try, isn't he.

When you go to see Mr. Bush, try being nice. The Bush family is, if nothing else, very gracious and probably appreciates the same courtesy. Also, try saying something positive on our work in Iraq and Afghanistan. That might be hard, but remember the potential payoffs. You might even try gagging some of your friends for the duration like Mike Moore, and the Hollywood communists.

Might I just say to the person leaving their comment; 'How lovely it must be for you to sit in your glass house, throwing stones.' Genocide is inexcusable and no matter where it occurs, it should be recognized for what it is. Ignorance, intolerance. I could go on forever w/ adverbs for that behavior. For you to think that it is worse in any one place than another leads me to believe you have never experienced such hatred. Try standing before it sometime and tell me you feel no empathy. We need to stand up not just as Americans but as human beings and stop this evil. And by the way, George Bush knows full well what is happening in Darfur but has done nothing about it because the leaders of Sudan, who, by the way, openly mocked him on the UN floor during his Darfur speech, because they know that he will do nothing. They have supplied him w/ 'information' on Al Qaeda that the US government deems more pressing than the millions of slaughtered and displaced human beings due to the Sudanese gov't and their sponsorshiip of the Janjaweed that inflict such genocidal horrors. Maybe it's time we all rethink our positions on Our World's politics and behavior, sir, let alone your right wing attitude. Try the middle sometime. It's quite an insightful place.

Then again I didn't piss off Bush, St. LisaDec 16th, 2006 - 18:03:48

Perhaps, Your grace, you missed the point. Let me retort, for your benefit. You and your band of merry men have been slamming Bush for 6 and a half years for doing in Iraq, exactly what you wish him to do in Darfur.

Your little men and women cried like bitches about 'international cooperation' for 4 years, until more real trouble materialized, and then you ran straight to unilateralism, faster than a neocon with his pants on fire, would run to a well. A true mystery is why you cry for the people of Darfur, but want to bug out on the Iraqis.

Not once, has the liberal elite slammed Kofi, this mess in his own backyard, for his incompetent, unethical, and crooked behavior. When Bush got the one guy to put a foot in his ass, assigned to the UN, your partisan children in Congress thought it more important to make a sacrifice than support him. Happy now?

No, Lisa, you are the typical liberal. You measure compassion by intent, not results. People like you get more folks killed in this world, than communicable disease ever killed. Your capitulating internationalists have zero to claim as progress. Like the befuddled Clinton, they laugh behind YOUR backs. Like the environazis, they'd rather see 50 million die from Malaria than use a little DDT. Compassion? I gotta whole truckload for you!

I suggest you go straight to Bush and, simply, beg. The Bush's are very gracious. At one time you could have just asked, but that would have required strength fortitude, cooperation, reasonable behavior, something we are sure doesn't exist on your side of the aisle anymore.

Another suggestion is to see if you can even get the democrats to greenlight this. I doubt it, but you'll still blame Bush for not doing what they fail to do, while still giving themselves a pass.

Now that you need those things, and have not cultivated them, you can blame yourselves for alienating the most powerful man on earth at a time when you need his help. Now that is something to feel guilty about Lisa. How's that working for you?

OH, and if you want to stare human suffering in the face, you don't need to go to Darfur, just go straight to Iraq. After all, 160,000 Americans are there doing that right now.

Spot on to the person above.

There is nothing I like more than feeding huge fork fulls of crow, to liberals who think they are helping humanity, but just spent 6 years screwing themselves. It's a pity other have to suffer

By the way, Lisa we think genocide is inexcusable too. Perhaps you need a hard nosed representative at the UN, to motivate them into acting?

Oops! You HAD ONE! But Hillary and the gang thought it was cute to slam him. great move! Are they happy now?

Or, my favorite, Kofi: He failed in Bosnia as the guy in charge of UN security forces. He failed in Rwanda to disarm Hutus. He failed in Zimbabwe to stop Black-on-White Apartheid. He filled his pockets with money intended to feed Iraqis. What a guy! That bad man at the UN was just not helpful!

The man above has a point: Why not get Pelosi, Kerry and the rest of the capitulating, duplicitous, liberals to do a resolution on Darfur and deliver it to Bush? My guess is that you will probably find even less help in Pelosi's office than in Hastert's office. Get Clinton on the bandwagon.(see how far that goes!) After all, he visits 300 year old slave colonies, perhaps he can now visit the present slave colonies for a change. Just make sure he's chaparoned.

I'm sorry we see through you, Lisa. It's a gift.

I'm sure everyone that is writing about Darfur is white. Interesting. Is the apathy and anger towards Lisa due to the fact that the people in Dafar are BLACK? It appears to make a huge difference in attitude, doesn't it?
