Submerged soldier couple smashes smooching record

Lisbon - A married soldier couple won an underwater kissing contest Saturday in the Portuguese village of Constancia, staying submerged with their lips locked for a minute and 18 seconds without coming up for air.
The feat set a record for the event, now in its second year, reported town officials.
Held in a swimming pool, the event is supposed to focus on the Valentine's Day celebration and remind people that kissing is not only romantic, but healthy, since 29 muscles are used in a kiss, burning off calories each time people pucker up.
The winners, whose identities were not given, get a free stay in a hotel, a river cruise and a romantic dinner.
