'Unwanted' triceratops finds buyer

Paris - The 65-million-year-old dinosaur skeleton that went unbought at auction on Wednesday has found a home - or at least a buyer, Christie's auction house in Paris said on Friday. An unnamed American shelled out 592,250 euros (940,000 dollars) for the 8-metre-long skeleton of a three-horned triceratops sometime after Wednesday's auction, which failed to find a buyer willing to pay the reserve minimum of 500,000 euros demanded by the bony beast's owner. The bronze-colored skeleton was reportedly owned by a German collector. It was found in 2004 by a rancher in North Dakota and consisted of 70 per cent original bones, with the missing bones replaced by copies made of resin.
