Citing karma, US gardner returns lost fortune

Los Angeles - A struggling gardener who found 140,000 dollars in the middle of a California street handed it over to police rather than using it to solve his financial problems, telling local TV reporters Friday that it was just the right thing to do. 'It's like karma,' Eli Estrada, 41 told Los Angeles TV station KNBC. 'Whatever you do, comes back.' Estrada found the fortune in a bag lying in the middle of the street in Cerritos, just outside Los Angeles. The 20-dollar bills were unmarked and bundled into wads of 20,000 dollars and in contained in a bag in the middle of Gridley Road in Cerritos. He said his initial jubilation soon turned sour. 'That's just your first reaction,' Estrada said, 'but it's not yours and you feel nervous and you feel like you did something wrong, even though you didn't.' 'Either you feel like you're being set up, or maybe it's a crime and now you're involved. Those thoughts were in my head at 100 miles an hour,' Estrada said. Estrada turned the loot in to police and discovered the source of the money. It apparently fell from an armoured truck. The grateful company gave him 2,000 dollars for turning in the money.

if this is true, this is the MOST stupid bunch at an armored truck car company, and should have given the man much more cash for his silence and had him sign an NDA.

If the word got out that this company was that incompetent - they'd be shuttered overnight.
