Saint Bernard pups, The Saint Bernard’s benevolent nature and unique relationship with man has gained mythic proportions world-wide ever since the dogs were adopted by the Saint-Bernard Monks in the 17th century along with the original Barry (1800-1814) who saved over 40 wayward travelers while tempting to cross the perilous 2,469 meter Saint-Bernard Pass through winter storms.
