Stowaway cat survives three-week trip across Pacific

Washington - A three-year-old cat has survived an 18-day journey across the Pacific Ocean hidden in a ship container, US media reported Friday. The cat, called Spice, vanished as his owners were packing a moving container to be shipped from Hawaii to San Bernadino, California. The wife and husband made the trip to California by themselves, only to find Spice in the container when it arrived at their home on Tuesday, the San Bernadino Sun reported. Spice spent 18 days on a ship with no food or water, but a family vet reportedly said he would make a full recovery. © 2007 dpa - Deutsche Presse-Agentur
