Teen learned how to hack computers on police training course

Wellington - A 16-year-old youth robbed strangers by hacking into their internet bank accounts after police sent him on a computer training course to improve his anti-social behaviour, it was reported on Tuesday.
The teenager admitted 26 fraud charges involving nearly 45,000 New Zealand dollars (about 30,600 US dollars) when he appeared in the youth court at Upper Hutt near Wellington on Monday, the Dominion Post reported.
The court was told he had been sent on the training course after committing a range of offences including kidnapping, aggravated robbery, threatening behaviour, unlawfully taking a motor vehicle and a number of driving infringements, racking up about 35,000 New Zealand dollars in unpaid fines.
The youth, who cannot be named because of his age, was remanded in custody for sentence.
