German sets record for continuous singing
Nov 12, 2006, 1:52 GMT
Waren, Germany - A German set a record Saturday night for continuous singing after completing a stretch of 59 hours and 15 minutes of constant crooning.
Hartmut Timm of the town of Waren in Mecklenburg-West Pomerania broke by nearly 45 minutes the old Guiness Book mark for continuous singing, previously held by an Italian.
Though not a professional singer, Timm sang largely German popular songs of the post-war period. He began the record attempt Thursday in a restaurant in Waren and finished late Saturday.
