Ridley Scott, Tony Scott, and Joe Carnahan forming ‘The A-Team’

Twentieth Century Fox has started work on the big screen adaptation of the hit 1980s television series “The A-Team” and has tapped Joe Carnahan to direct, Ridley Scott to produce and Tony Scott to executive produce under the Scott Free banner. Joe Carnahan leaving Mission Impossible 3 put the movie in a state of limbo, or so you would think. But screenwriter, Frank Darabont is not so concerned. He spoke tp Empire Online.
'This is going into a very character-driven and gritty — much grittier than the first two — kind of place. Dealing in a more immediately graspable and relevant reality, globally speaking. It's much more in line with certain things that are going on in the headlines and if I said any more than that I think Tom might have me killed.'

The Hollywood Reporter says that director Joe Carnahan has pulled out of the movie due to creative differences. Sounds familiar...Anyway, filming is still planned to start next month in Germany.
Paramount better find a new director pretty quickly. The release date has also been pushed back to 29 June 2005.
