"Una Healy" (born 10 October 1981) is an Irish singer/songwriter and guitarist, best known for being one fifth of girl group 'The Saturdays'. Healy is the only non-British member of The Saturdays.
Early life
Una Healy was born in Thurles, County Tipperary, Ireland. She comes from a musical background and is the niece of country singer Declan Nerney.
Career
Healy began playing the guitar from the age of 13. She was an acoustic and electric guitarist.
After leaving school, she started fronting a local rock band in Ireland. She recorded for a few years with various other musicians.
Healy won Ireland's Glinsk Song Contest in both 2004 and 2006 and her self-produced EP, "Sorry" was released in 2006. She represented Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 as a backing singer for Brian Kennedy on 'Every Song Is A Cry For Love'.
Since 2007, Healy has been a member of girl group 'The Saturdays'. Their first four singles have all reached the Top 10 in the UK charts ('If This Is Love', 'Up', 'Issues' and 'Just Can't Get Enough'). Their debut album "Chasing Lights" also peaked at number nine. The Saturdays supported Girls Aloud on their Tangled Up Tour, the Jonas Brothers at their Hammersmith Apollo gig on 11 September 2008 and Take That at Take That Present: The Circus Live on 5 June 2009.
The Saturdays made a guest appearance in Hollyoaks Later on 18 September 2008, playing themselves. They also starred in a 10-minute BBC drama "Myths", in an episode called 'The Syrens' Call'. The Saturdays performed the song "Issues".
Healy won hottest female 2008 in the Virgin Media Music Awards. She was ranked number 19 in FHM's Sexiest Women 2010.
Personal life
Healy has been in a relationship with England rugby player Ben Foden since autumn 2008. They live together in the outskirts of London and have two dogs, Jackson and Bono.
