Tobe Hooper

American film director and screenwriter Tobe Hooper was born January 25th, 1943 in Austin, Texas.
Tobe is best known for his film making work in the genre of horror. He is the man behind such cult horror pictures as "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" (1974), "Salem's Lot" (1979) and "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2" (1986).
In 1982 he teamed up with Steven Spielberg to direct the hit horror feature "Poltergueist". The film was nominated for 3 Academy Awards.
