Swedish author and journalist Stieg Larsson was born August 15th, 1954 in Skelleftehamn, Sweden.

The Swedish author is best known for his hugely popular "Millennium" series of crime novels which include "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo," "The Girl Who Played with Fire" and "The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest." The books were released posthumously.

Stieg sadly passed away on November 9th, 2004 after suffering a fatal heart attack at his appartment in Stockholm, Sweden.
