Shane Acker
"Shane Acker" (born 1971, Wheaton, Illinois) is an award-winning film director, animator and designer. He has just finished his first feature film 9. The film was produced by Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov.
The 11-minute short film 9 which the feature film is based on, premered at Sundance in 2005 and won numerous awards for its creator, Acker. The film was also shown at SIGGRAPH Electronic Theater and won a student academy awards in 2006. He also directed other shorts while he was at UCLA like The Hangnail and The Astounding Talent of Mr. Grenade.
Shane has multidisciplinary background studying for architecture for sevral years before becoming a filmmaker. He is a graduette from the UCLA's School of Art and Architecture were he deserved most of his masters degree in animation and architecture. He also earned his MFA in animation.
Shane is currently living in Los Angeles and working at Focus Features where he owns his own company called 9, LLC which is in charge of the movie sales like tee shirts and action figures.
He is also co-owner and founder of his own company called Shane Acker, Inc.
