Steel Magnolias Books A Theater

New York: The revival of Steel Magnolias is set to play The Lyceum Theater beginning March 15, 2005 after Whoopi Goldberg ends her solo show. Christine Ebersole and Delta Burke have been confirmed to be starring in the play.

Steel Magnolias tells the story of several women who meet in a small town Louisiana beauty parlor. The center of the story is M'Lynn and her daughter Shelby. The original production of the play opened in 1987 and ran for 1,126 performances. A 1989 film version starred Sally Field and Julia Roberts. The Broadway production, directed by Jason Moore is set to open on Broadway on April 4th.
