Peyton Manning threw for 288 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Indianapolis Colts over the New Orleans Saints, 41-10, at the RCA Dome in the NFL's season opener. Manning completed 18- of-30 passes and Joseph Addai ran for 118 yards and a touchdown for the defending Super Bowl champion Colts (1-0), who scored 34 straight points to end the game to secure their third straight win in a season opener. Reggie Wayne had seven catches for 115 yards and two scores, and Marvin Harrison added four receptions for 83 yards with a TD for Indianapolis, which trailed 10-7 late in the first half before rallying. Drew Brees was held to only 192 yards passing, completing 28-of-41 passes with two interceptions, for the Saints (0-1), who advanced to the NFC Championship Game last season before falling to the Chicago Bears. Reggie Bush ended with only 47 total yards, 38 rushing, seven receiving and two on punt returns, for New Orleans, which was held without an offensive touchdown for the first time with Brees at quarterback. Defensive back Jason David returned a fumble 55 yards for the Saints, who last went without an offensive touchdown on December 24, 2005. David, though, was also picked on by Manning, as he gave up three touchdowns.

The Colts lost five somewhat recognizable players in running back Dominic Rhodes, wide receiver Brandon Stokley, linebacker Cato June, defensive tackle Montae Reagor and cornerback Nick Harper, but June is really the only player that can't be replaced easily. Indy figures to take the best front-seven player available at No. 32, and effectiveness against the run will be a major pre-requisite. With running back Joseph Addai and wideouts Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne firmly entrenched as starters, the Colts can target diamond-in-the-rough types to come in and fill backup roles at those positions. It will not be a shock if Indy uses a middle-round pick on a quarterback to push Jim Sorgi and/or recent acquisition John Navarre in the backup chair behind Peyton Manning.

With Super Bowl MVP Peyton Manning sitting in the stands and Tennessee legendary women's coach Pat Summitt dressed as a cheerleader, the Volunteers rode early momentum to beat No. 5 Florida, 86-76, handing the defending national champions their second consecutive loss. Chris Lofton had 21 points and JaJuan Smith scored 16 for the Volunteers (21-9, 9-6 SEC), who won for the sixth time in their last seven games to solidify their spot for at least an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. Ramar Smith and Dane Bradshaw each scored 10 for Tennessee, which shot a season-high 58 percent to complete a perfect home season at 16-0 for the first time since 1976. Al Horford scored 17 and had 10 rebounds for the Gators (25-5, 12-3), who were coming off a 10- point loss at LSU Saturday. Chris Richard and Corey Brewer each chipped in 12 points for Florida, which trailed by as many as 27 points before trying to rally late. Joakim Noah was limited to eight points, but had 11 boards, as the Gators lost for a third time in four games following a 17-game winning streak.

Adam Vinatieri booted five field goals, and the much-maligned Indianapolis defense put together its second straight dominant performance in the postseason as the Colts stunned Baltimore, 15-6, in the divisional round of the AFC playoffs at M&T Bank Stadium. Widely regarded as the best clutch kicker in NFL history, Vinatieri surpassed Gary Anderson to set the NFL career postseason record for field goals during the game. Vinatieri has now been successful on 34 kicks in postseason action. The Colts (14-4) now move on to face the winner of the New England/San Diego tilt on Sunday in the AFC Championship Game next weekend. Peyton Manning was unspectacular for the Colts, who were fresh off a 23-8 win over the Kansas City Chiefs at last week's wild card round and will now play for the AFC Championship for the first time since 2003. The signal caller completed 15-of-30 passes for 170 yards and two interceptions. Manning, who has been criticized for his subpar play in past postseasons, has thrown five interceptions in this year's playoffs to just one touchdown. Dominic Rhodes ran for 56 yards and was huge down the stretch for Indianapolis while Reggie Wayne caught five passes for 51 yards. Steve McNair connected on 18-of-29 passes for 173 yards but threw two interceptions for the AFC North- champion Ravens, who were in the playoffs for the first time since 2003.

Peyton Manning completed 30-of-38 passes for 268 yards but had just one TD and three interceptions for Indianapolis (13-4), which will now move on and visit Baltimore in the AFC divisional round next weekend. Dallas Clark had nine receptions for 103 yards for the Colts, who are in the midst of their fifth straight postseason appearance, the longest current streak in the league. Adam Vinatieri kicked three field goals in the win. Trent Green finished just 14-of-24 for 107 yards with two interceptions and a touchdown for the Chiefs (9-8), who are now 0-5 in playoff games since last competing for the AFC Championship in 1993. Only the Cincinnati Bengals (1990) and Detroit Lions (1991) have endured a longer stretch without a postseason triumph.
