Michael Moore has pulled out of attending the screening of his movie, Fahrenheit 9/11, in George Bush's hometown. The Alamo Draft House Cinema posted the following update on their site:

' Michael Moore will not be attending the screening this evening. He does not want to risk distracting from the focus on the good folks working at and supporting the Crawford Peace House, and what he feels is one of the most important messages of the film: the rights of all Americans - not just him - to have differing opinions and to freely voice them.'

This probably makes some sense since it would no doubt have ended up in a mini-riot..Details on the movie in our database.

MIchael Moore told AP that he intends to go ahead with his next documentry, Sicko. This is about health trusts in the USA. He says he intended to do it regardless the success of Fahrenheit 9/11. But he should have no trouble getting funding now.

Having said that it will not have any initernational appeal, except to his big fans. Plus it is not quite as hot a topic as the war in Iraq. We will keep you posted.

He must be delighted and seems to be enjoying rubbing Disney's nose it even more. This is the most any documentry has ever made, surpassing the previous also held by Moore, for Bowling for Columbine.
