To me, Journey 2: The Mysterious Island is possibly the best action movie ever or was it because I saw it two days after Chipwrecked? What could be more thrilling then watching somebody throw a spear at an electric eel to power up a 200 year old submarine that came right out of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea? ... more

Who knew Vernians existed? That there is a devoted literary circle of Jules Verne’s enthusiasts? There sure is and this delightful family film celebrates the man himself.  Verne was a progressive thinker who created some of the best known and prescient works of science fiction of the 19th century.

Newfoundland filmmaker Brad Peyton made just some shorts and a few TV spots before he was tapped him to direct Cats and Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore. His next project, a big budget 3D action adventure starring Dwayne Johnson, Michael Caine and Vanessa Hudgens, kicks him even higher up the food chain.
