English actor Martin Freeman was born October 8th, 1971 in Aldershot, Hampshire, England.

The television and film actor is best known for playing Tim Canterbury in the UK's original series of 'The Office', the lead role of Arthur Dent in "The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" (2005), and for playing Sherlock Holmes sidekick Dr. Watson on BBC's 'Sherlock'.

In 2010 he was cast in the leading role of Bilbo Baggins in Peter Jackson's 2 part adaptation of J. R. R. Tolkiens' 'The Hobbit'. The first of the two films is due for release in December of 2012.
