Biography
When she was three her mother enrolled her in Broadway Bound, a musical theater so that she 'wouldn't be afraid in front of people.' Seven years later, she performed in their show "Guys & Dolls." Her first TV role was in an episode of "Cold Case", followed shortly by an episode of "CSI: Miami", and then an episode of the short-lived series "The Inside." She was also in a commercial for Seppälä clothing chain during that time.
Liana's first significant role came in 'Galveston: The Musical' when she was 7. In the summer of 2005 she attended a weeklong acting camp in California, where she attracted the attention of Central Artists. Charmed by Liana's 'great charisma and a very natural delivery,' the agent asked Liana to travel to Hollywood.
Liana's mom lined up an apartment at an extended-stay complex in the Hollywood Hills and in February, she and Liana flew to California. Liana arrived on a Wednesday and had an audition for an episode of "Cold Case" the next day. By Friday of that week she had her first role on TV. The next audition wasn't quite as easy. Liana tried out for a part on an episode of "CSI: Miami" on a Thursday, and she didn't hear back for several days. At first was upset because she thought she wasn't going to get the part because she didn't have the right hair color. When her agent called she found out that she got the part, she just had to dye her hair.
While still working on "CSI: Miami," Liana landed a tryout for a situation comedy starring Jane Leeves, the actress who played Daphne on "Frasier". The producers liked Liana, but her parents were worried that she might be a bit young for the part. The character was 13. In the end, the producers opted for an older actress, but there were no hard feelings.
In 2007 Liana played the lead role of 'Cadi Forbes' in the Fox feature film, "The Last Sin Eater." She starred alongside Louise Fletcher and Henry Thomas in the tale of a 10-year-old girl who discovers a secret sin haunting her community of Welsh immigrants in 1850s Appalachia.
In 2008 Liana starred as Jane, the daughter of the patient, in the show House MD, and she can be seen in Miley Cyrus' music video for '7 Things' of her hit album "Breakout".
She has appeared twice as the character Tristen Oswald in the series Sons of Anarchy, once in 2008, once in 2009.
In 2010 she starred in "Trust", where she played Annie Cameron, a 14 year old girl victimized by an online sexual predator. It was David Schwimmer's second foray into directing and Clive Owen and Catherine Keener played her parents. Liberato won a Silver Hugo Award for Best Actress for her performance in the film at the 46th Chicago International Film Festival.
