Personal life
Kellan Christopher Lutz is the middle child of 7 brothers and 1 sister. He was born in Dickinson, North Dakota and was raised throughout North Dakota, the Midwest, and Arizona. He started modeling when he was 13 or 14, and after graduating high school he moved to Los Angeles for college where he then decided to pursue an acting career. Had he not chosen this path, however, he had considered a career in Chemical engineering or becoming a Navy SEAL.
Lutz has close friendships with his "Twilight" co-stars, particularly Ashley Greene and Jackson Rathbone, who he knew before the movie began filming. He says that his 23rd birthday was spent with the cast, saying, 'I hung out with the cast of Twilight and went on a crazy adventure with a loony cab driver.' Lutz is currently dating actress Kayla Ewell.
Career
Lutz has acted on a number of television shows. He had recurring roles on "Model Citizens" and "The Comeback", and smaller roles in episodes of "The Bold and the Beautiful", "CSI: NY", "Summerland", "Six Feet Under", "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation", and "Heroes". He was also in the films "Stick It", "Accepted", and "Prom Night". Additionally, Kellan has performed on the California stage and was the host of Bravo's "Blow Out". He also appeared in the 2006 commercial for Hilary Duff's fragrance With Love... Hilary Duff, and in the 2007 music video for her single, 'With Love'. Lutz also appears in the miniseries "Generation Kill", based on the book by Evan Wright.
Lutz has been cast as Emmett Cullen in the upcoming movie adaptation of the book "Twilight" by Stephenie Meyer. He he will also be appearing as George Evans in the upcoming "90210" spinoff on The CW. Lutz will be reuniting with his "Twilight" co-star and close friend, Ashley Greene, in the 2009 movie "Strife".
Currently, Kellan is working on a lacrosse film, with a working title of "Warrior", scheduled to be due next year.
