"Johnny Pacar" (born "John Edward Pacuraru" on June 6, 1981) is an American film and television actor, who best known for playing Cody Jackson in Flight 29 Down. He also had a main role in the film Purgatory House, and had a major recurring role as Jimmy Francis in American Dreams.

Biography

Pacar was born "John Edward Pacuraru" to Judith and John Pacuraru in Dearborn, Michigan. (... more) As a youth he always wanted to entertain people. He was an expert hockey player and always dreamed about one day starring in the NHL. However, he chose a different path when he started acting in drama and local theatre. In high school he formed a few bands driven by his punk rock influences, also getting into drama at school where he began doing high school and local theatre. After graduating at Wayne Memorial High School in 1999, he moved from Michigan to Los Angeles in May 2001. After two months there, he got an agent and filmed a national commercial and starred in Purgatory House, and a recurring role in Boston Public. Pacar also landed guest roles in Tru Calling, Judging Amy, George Lopez, CSI: Miami, Medium, Eli Stone, as well as starring in the Disney Channel movie Now You See It.... He is also pursuing a music career.

Despite these various roles, he is best known for being cast as Jackson, a regular on the series Flight 29 Down for NBC/ Discovery Kids. The show was an instant hit and concluded with a two part made for television event that aired to tremendous ratings. Pacar also has more projects in post-production.

In the past, he has dated Kristy Wu and Melissa Lee.

Pacar now stars in 'Make It or Break It' on ABC Family, a series about teenage gymnasts striving for the 2012 Olympics, playing Damon Young.

He is currently hiring for positions in his new band, Fairlene. The group has pages on Myspace as well as Facebook.

Pacar also appeared in Simple Plan's music video for 'Perfect'

as one of the kids.
