Just in time for the scorching hot days of summer, Days of our Lives fans inherit a new character they’ll love to hate: sizzling hot veteran actor Gilles Marini debuts as attorney Ted Laurent on Tuesday, June 5.
Marini plays Ted, a shady lawyer repping equally shady Leo (Greg Rikaart) as he pursues a sexual harassment lawsuit against Sonny Kiriakis (Freddie Smith).
Most viewers will instantly recognize the actor from the 2008 film Sex and the City, while others identify him for his tv roles on Devious Maids, Switched at Birth, and Brothers & Sisters. Marini is a seasoned hoofer as well: he was the Dancing with the Stars runner up during season 8.
The French native of Greek and Italian descent served in the French Army prior to entering show business. After his military stint as a fireman was completed, Marini began modeling and his first acting role was in the 2005 horror flick Screech of the Decapitated. In addition to his breakout role as Dante in Sex and the City Marini has starred on Criminal Minds, Ugly Betty, Nip/Tuck, Dirty Sexy Money, and 2 Broke Girls.
This isn’t Marini’s first foray into daytime, he’s appeared in various roles on The Bold and the Beautiful in 2005, 2007, and 2017 and in 2006 he played a bicyclist on the now defunct serial Passions.
Riding two wheels is a real life pastime for the handsome star, as a look at his social media reveals; Marini recently rode his motorcycle in amfAR’s epic ride focused on research efforts to find a cure for HIV.
When he’s not cruising for worthy causes, Marini lives in California with his wife Carole, son Georges, and daughter Juliana.
Marini will appear in episodes throughout the summer, possibly romancing Kate (Lauren Koslow) when he’s not chasing ambulances!
