Garrett Hedlund Biography

Summary
"Garrett John Hedlund" (born September 3, 1984) is an American actor known for his role in the movie "Four Brothers".
Hedlund was born in Roseau, Minnesota, the son of Kristine Anne (née Yanish) and Robert Martin Hedlund. He has 2 older siblings, a brother (Nathanial) and sister (Amanda). His family then moved to Scottsdale, Arizona when he was in the 9th grade. It was here that Garrett began taking private acting lessons and modeling for LL Bean and Teen Magazine. At school, Garrett participated in track, wrestling, & football. Garrett also enjoyed listening to punk rock, and went to various punk rock concerts to photograph the bands and their fashions. He enjoys hunting and the outdoors, so when he starred in Four Brothers, he was already pretty handy with a gun. He ended up graduating Horizon High School a semester early to pursue his acting career. One month after arriving in LA, Garrett landed the role as Patroclus, Achilles cousin, in Troy. He currently resides in an apartment (that he bought with the money he earned from Troy) in Los Angeles where he enjoys staying and cooking pasta.
Gained at least 30 lbs. of muscle for the role of Patroclus in Troy (2004), then gained another 20 for the role of Don Billinsley in Friday Night Lights (2004) - only to slim back down for the role of Jack Mercer in Four Brothers (2005)
Hedlund has starred in several major films, including the epic "Troy" (in which he made his film industry debut as Patroclus, cousin of Achilles); the drama Friday Night Lights, alongside Billy Bob Thornton, which charts the 1988 football season of the Permian Panthers; "Eragon", the adaptation of the novel by Christopher Paolini; "Georgia Rule", with legendary screen actresses Jane Fonda and Felicity Huffman and "Death Sentence", with screen veteran Kevin Bacon. "Death Sentence" was released in cinemas on August 31, 2007. It is rumored that Hedlund will play the lead role of a new movie called 'Hectic' in which he plays a dj who needs to pay back a debt and wants to escape New York City before New Year's Eve, set in the late 1980s.
