Dennis Hopper
American actor Dennis Hopper was born May 17th, 1936 in Dodge City, Kansas.
The film and television actor kicked off his career in the mid 1950's on television before in 1955 landing a role opposite James Dean in 'Rebel Without a Cause'. Hopper always admired James Dean's style of acting.
After initial success in film it was not until 1969 that his career really took off again. This came with the road trip hit 'Easy Rider'. The film was directed by and starred Hopper.
Other notable film credits include 'Apocalypse Now' (1979), 'Speed' (1994), 'Waterworld' (1995) and 'Land of the Dead' (2005).
On television Dennis starred in the hit series '24' for 5 episodes and played the lead character of Ben Cendars on Starz networks television drama 'Crash'. The series was based on the 2004 film with the same title.
Sadly just a year after finishing shooting on the 'Crash' television series, Mr. Hopper lost his battle with prostate cancer. He passed away on May 29th, 2010 surrounded by friends and family at his home in Venice, California.
