Summary
"Bethenny Frankel" (born November 4, 1970) is a natural foods chef, television personality, cookbook author and entrepreneur who is currently on "The Real Housewives of New York City" on Bravo network.
Early life
Frankel is the daughter of the late thoroughbred race horse trainer Robert Frankel, a National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame inductee and five-time winner of the Eclipse Award for Outstanding Trainer. She was once a hotwalker for her step father's stable and spent every summer at Saratoga Springs, New York with her step father John Parisella and mother Bernedette Parisella.
Bethenny graduated from Pine Crest School and matriculated to New York University.
Career
Before she appeared in the reality show, Frankel starred in the 1994 movie 'Hollywood Hills 90028' and acted in the 1995 movie 'Wish Me Luck'.
Frankel attended the Natural Gourmet Cooking Institute in New York. After she graduated, she formed a company which provides wheat-, egg-, and dairy-free baked goods, meals for private clients, and a custom-meal delivery service.
Frankel was one of 16 candidates in "The Apprentice: Martha Stewart". She made it to the series finale before losing to Dawna Stone.
Frankel is one of the six women featured on Bravo's series The Real Housewives of New York City, a show that takes a look on the inside life of relatively wealthy New York women.
She was a regular contributor to NBC's coverage of the 2009 Kentucky Derby and 2009 Preakness Stakes and Bravo TV's coverage of the 2009 Kentucky Oaks.
In March 2009, Frankel's first cookbook, "Naturally Thin: Unleash Your SkinnyGirl and Free Yourself from a Lifetime of Dieting", was published by Fireside. In December 2009, Her second cookbook, "The SkinnyGirl Dish: Easy Recipes for Your Naturally Thin Life " was published, also by Fireside.
Personal life
Bethenny has been engaged multiple times, one of which resulted in a 7-month marriage. She is now engaged to Jason Hoppy, whom she met at the nightclub Tenjune in late 2008. She is currently pregnant with Hoppy's child, due in late Spring of 2010.
Bethenny also posed nude for PETA in September 2009, early-on in her pregnancy.
